"Ahhh, I think I'll just put off going to the gym for tomorrow." The single toughest part about getting huge muscles or getting in-shape is motivating yourself to go to the gym. For beginners, it's an even harder task, because they haven't seen true results yet so they think, "well why should I go to the gym today if I haven't seen results going in the past?" IВ will show you how to knock out your second-guessing about going to the gym using these 4 powerful steps or actions that I use everyday...
1. Music - I'm not talking about slow, soothing music like Enya or Jack Johnson (Although for a very select group of people this might be good.) I'm talking about listening to some good pump up, raging music! You want to listen to something that will get you: a. completely focused on just working out, b. get you energized and get you really going. So bring your music player every time you hit the gym. Oh and make sure your battery is fully charged. You don't want to be "in the zone" in the middle of your workout and then hear complete silence from your music player dying.
2. A Friend - Yes, bring someone that will be doing the same workout as you. This will definitely help you stay motivated. Sometimes I go workout alone and it's just not the same as having someone there with you to keep you going. Also, make sure whom ever you bring with you is a true motivator. You don't want someone who's lazy that will slow you down.
3. Full nights rest - Some of the worst workouts I've had were because of getting very little sleep the night before. You want to be fully refreshed to have an incredible workout and maximum energy for the gym and to get yourself over to the gym.
4. Workout Plan - Not knowing what kind of workout or what muscle groups you plan on working on, before your workout is a complete de-motivator. You end up spending more time in the gym thinking about what you should do, rather than actually working your muscles. So come up with a complete workout plan beforehand.
5. Pre-workout supplement - There is so much hype out there about supplements. Some people are really against taking supplements and some are all for it. IВ will tell you personally that a pre-workout supplement definitely helps me gain complete focus and have maximum energy. I don't even think twice about going to the gym anymore...it's an automatic decision.
So these are the 5 steps I take to completely get me motivated to go to the gym 5+ days of the week. Try them out for yourself and see what you think.
